Our story starts all the way back in February 2016, while Vishal was studying in Newcastle, and Ross in Edinburgh. A simple swipe right and “It’s a Match!” later, it wasn’t long before the initial witty banter led to endless days of chatting and facetime calls. Then, after 3 weeks, We decided to meet for the first time, Vishal travelled the hour journey to Edinburgh where we had our first date, Pizza Express; nothing says romance like a 2-4-1 voucher code. We continued like this for a year, sneaking weekend visits to each other when we could manage.

Unfortunately, in early 2017 it came time for Vishal to graduate and fly back to India. We didn’t really know how to end something that made us so happy, and so we vowed to try long-distance.

What followed was a pretty uncomfortable 2 and a half years of meeting each other somewhere in the world, having the most wonderful 2 weeks together and then saying the most gut-wrenching goodbyes. Still, the pain of parting was nothing to the joy of meeting again.

Finally in 2019,  after countless visa rejections and disappointments, Vishal moved back to Edinburgh. As they say, the rest is history, and we’ve now been living together 5 wonderful years, not to mention becoming parents to our furry little daughter Pattika Pascal.

While our love story wasn’t the most direct of paths, it has made us stronger & even more appreciative of each other.
